WHAT WE BELIEVE
What We Believe With the universal Christian Church, we as Lutherans believe in the Triune God:
"Grace alone. Faith alone. Scripture alone." Grace alone: God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful. As the Bible says, “God desires all people to be saved.” For this reason, God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world so that all of mankind might be saved from their sins. It is only by God’s grace that a person is saved from their sins. Faith alone: “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2: 8).” Jesus was crucified, died and was buried. He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life it offers. Scripture alone: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).” The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of Salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian believers. |
